Former Adventists Minister Scales-Up Campaign For CPP Flagbearer

The Reverend Dr Divine Ayivor, a former Adventist Minister, on Tuesday outlined his ‘submarine campaign’ which seeks to take into consideration the COVID-19 environment but loaded with targeted engagement at the grassroots.

He said my ‘submarine campaign’ also combines health and politics; political leaders must be in the forefront to educate members on the COVID-19 preventive protocols whilst focusing on the main campaign message.

Dr Ayivor, who is the immediate past Pastor of Prince Emmanuel SDA Church Ringway, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview, that: "I am a political heavyweight who operates in deep electoral waters focusing on issues to transform the economy".

He said: "Some of the current politicians parading as giants in Ghana politics are actually novices who have nothing to offer the ordinary people, they clothed themselves with power to intimidate and introduce vindictive policies ".

The Reverend Minister debunked the assertion that "he is a new entrant into the political field especially the CPP flagbearership contest and the political dynamics of the Ghanaian politics", stressing that am a nephew of Mr Komla Agbeli Gbedema, and have a strong root in the traditions of Nkrumaism.

He said, "I have worked as a Minister of the Gospel with membership from all the political traditions, with such mandate one needs to maintain a high level of political neutrality to ensure that I maintain and play a fatherly role to all without any political bias".

“I have worked for party and country from the neutral point of view, now is the time for all who consider themselves ‘salt of our nation’ to join me irrespective of their political tradition to season the political environment, we must change the Ghanaian governance architecture,” he said.

Dr Ayivor said based on the ‘submarine campaign’ my team is currently holding discussions with senior members of the CPP and other eminent personalities across the country to resolve on the challenges facing the party.

He said for the sake of what is before us as a party and nation, “we must sacrifice, heal wounds and get ready to work together as one team. “Ghanaians are looking forward to the CPP to take over the governance of this country”.

“Dr Ayivor who is PhD holder in Public Policy and Administration with a Law Concentration believes that the political architecture of the CPP and that of the country must change, the antagonistic partisanship must change”.

The CPP Flagbearer Aspirant described the party, as the best political tradition in the country, and appealed to the delegates to give him the mandate to lead “the CPP in Election 2020 and win political power for Ghanaians to experience new democratic pragmatic governance under his presidency".

He said given the chance to lead CPP to Election 2020 as the flag bearer, would be a good omen for the party, "as we would enter the electoral battle field with a new face, new mandate, and new crop of politicians".

Dr Ayivor said: “Winning the CPP Flagbearer is the first step towards winning the Presidential slot for the national mandate to transform the country and set it on the path of economic independence and emancipation.

"The power for total freedom is in your hands use it wisely by electing Dr Divine Ayivor as the CPP flagbearer for Election 2020," he added.
