Pru West: Three Communities In The Pru West District Hooked Up To The National Grid

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Pru West, Stephen Jalulah has extended electricity to three communities under government’s electrification project of the Pru West District after the residents has demanded for it for over forty five years.

Among the beneficiary communities are; Krobo, Kamanpa and Cherembo.

Addressing the chiefs and people at the separate durbar, the DCE for Pru West, who double as NPP parliamentary candidate for Pru west constituency, stated that, the project will go a long way to benefit over 6000 people across the communities.

He has however advised the people particularly the youth to take advantage of the opportunity of being connected to the national grid to create jobs for themselves in order to improve on their livelihoods.

He said the connection of the communities to the national grid would pave way for many developmental projects to be established in the area, saying the assembly is committed to ensuring universal access to electricity by the people.

The district chief executive also urged the people to pay their bills promptly to avoid been disconnected by and also to enable the power suppliers to generate more revenue to extend power to other communities in the area.

The Chiefs and people of the beneficiary communities who could not hide their happiness, however thanked the President and the DCE for the project saying “we have been yearning for this day for far too long. We thank you very much for your efforts, we will never forget about your efforts,” they assured.
