COVID-19: Education Minister NAPO Discharged From Hospital

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh the Minister for Education and MP for Manhyia South constituency has been discharged from the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).
 
NAPO as affectionately called was detained at the University of Ghana Medical Centre awaiting results of a COVID-19 test.
 
The Manhyia South Member of Parliament was feeling unwell for a couple of days and decided to go in for a second test after testing negative in a prior test on June 16.

The Minister of Education and MP for Manhyia South, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has recovered after getting infected with COVID-19 weeks ago.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by Rodney Nkrumah-Boateng, Press Secretary of the Ministry who said Dr. Opoku Prempeh has been discharged and resting at home.

He said: “The Minister for Education, Hon. Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, announces that he has been discharged from the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) in Accra with a positive rapid antibody test result and will be further monitored.”

“He is currently at home resting and would like to thank all those who wished him well during his time in hospital,” portion of the statement read.
