Maame Dokono Would've Been Bigger Than Oprah Winfrey If . . . - Arnold Asamoah Baidoo

Entertainment Analyst, Arnold Asamoah Baidoo says veteran actress Grace Omaboe alias Maame Dokono would have been bigger than American talk show host and philanthropist, Oprah Winfrey if she were to be in the United States of America.

Oprah Winfrey is one of the wealthiest women in the world and her talk show, the Oprah Winfrey show, has for years been one of the top programmes widely watched by many people across the globe.

According to Arnold Baidoo, Maame Dokono's influence and impact in Ghana's entertainment industry puts her in the league of Oprah Winfrey.

He made this comment durng a panel discussion on Peace FM's ''Entertainment Review'' on Saturday.

To him, Maame Dokono deserves enormous recognition and praise for her role in entertainment but Ghanaians don't celebrate her enough.

"Maame Dokono has not been celebrated enough considering the effort and contributions she made to this industry. Most times, people say it is politics that made the thing turn left. But regardless, I believe we still need to celebrate her more. I always maintain if Maame Dokono were to be in US, she would be bigger than Oprah Winfrey. Because she was virtually everywhere, in music, TV, radio; everywhere. A lot of the millennials don't even know Maame Dokono was a singer . . . I remember even when it comes to the fashion world, we used to have Maame Dokono's calendar where when you go to sewing shops, you actually see the calendar of Maame Dokono," he stressed.
