A Deputy Communication Director for the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP), Richard Asante has said the Member of Parliament (MP) for Awutu Senya East Constituency, Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson did not breach any law regarding the gunshot incident.
According to him, members of the NPP are not in anyway worried about the agitations against her for admitting she fired a gun at the Step for Christ registration centre in her Constituency.
The Minister for Special Development Initiatives in an earlier interview after the incident stressed that none of the men in her company at the time of the incident were armed when they got to the centre.
“I fired the shots myself,” she admitted in an interview.
She added that the gunshot was to protect herself because her police escort was not with her.
"We still stand by our words that she has done nothing wrong and has breached no law of the constitution," he was speaking on UTV's 'Adekye Nsroma' newspaper discussion programme.
