TV3 Has No Right To Show 'Play Boy'; It's My Intellectual Property - Socrates Sarfo Hits Back

Film Producer, Socrates Sarfo has hit back at Media General, owners of TV3, for daring him to sue them for recently showing a Ghanaian movie titled ''Play Boy''.

Socrates Sarfo has made copyright claims to the movie and is reported to be filing a law suit against TV3 for showing the movie without his consent.

But the management of TV3 has called the movie producer's bluff stressing he doesn't own rights to the movie, therefore his claim of copyright infringement is mere hogwash.

They have reportedly challenged him to prove the movie is his intellectual property.

Setting the record straight on ''Entertainment Review'' on Peace FM, Socrates Sarfo insisted the movie is his own.

He told host Akwasi Aboagye that he wrote and produced the movie in the 90s and management of TV3 reached out to him and his team that they want to show his movies on the television network.

According to him, he granted TV3 the right to show his movies for 2 years and the time has elapsed, hence a breach of contract for them to show the Play Boy movie this year.

On the issue of whether or not the movie is indeed his intellectual property, Socrates Sarfo stated categorically; ''I did everything in the movie; calling the artist, paying and all those things, writing the scripts, directing; everything''.

He still threatened to settle the issue in court.
