Stop Directing The Military Like "Zombies" With Your "Whiskey-Intoxicated Orders" – Fred Agbenyo To Govt

The former Deputy National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fred Agbenyo has also accused the government of using the military to intimidate Voltarians from registering in the ongoing voters’ registration exercise.

According to him, the government is directing the military-like “zombies” to achieve their political agenda.

“Do the Military in our country determine who a Ghanaian is or not? Does anybody have that right to determine that? That is why the laws say if you have any problem with anybody’s identity, there is a complaint form, fill and challenge the person for the issue to be resolved at arbitration. Directing the Military as zombies with your whiskey-intoxicated orders means they are not professional because professional soldiers will not do that,” he said on UTV’s “Adekye Nsroma”.

“It is clear that the Military has taken the law into their hands. Those that are doing that I do not believe they are trained military men . . . These are criminal elements in military uniforms. No trained military Officer will get involved in things like this and if you speak to a lot of them in barracks, they are not happy about the things happening in this country. A lot of the soldiers are not happy that their name is being dragged in the mud by few elements who just want to achieve their political agenda and this cannot continue. Our laws define who is qualified to register and who a Ghanaian is so why do you discriminate? I can say without any fear of contradiction that is a deliberate attempt to disenfranchise people, particularly the Voltarians,” he fumed.
