Veteran highlife artiste Akosua Agyapong has asked executives of the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) to render an audit account to their members about how they have expended monies paid to the organization by the government for their welfare.

According to Akosua Agyapong, it is not true that government has not been supportive towards the Creative Arts industry, particularly GHAMRO.

She revealed that the government has been ensuring that all payments due GHAMRO and other Creative Arts Associations like ASOG, GIBA, the Copyright Association are collected and paid into their accounts.

She explained that the government even makes sure levies charged on purchases of recordable media like using pen drives to record music are paid to GHAMRO but the members have no clue how their monies are administered.

Speaking to Halifax Ansah Addo on Okay FM's 'Best Entertainment', she called for accountability on the part of their executives because, to her, the members do not benefit from the monies neither do they know what their leaders use them for.

An unhappy Akosua Agyapong wants the leaders to make it public for what purposes they use their monies and how they can access them.
