Your Handful Projects No Answer To Akufo-Addo's Infrastructure Achievements - Oppong Nkrumah

Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah says the handful infrastructure developments of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) are no answer to the 17,334 projects done by the Akufo-Addo government within four years in power.

According to him as at the time we did our town hall meeting on infrastructure, we had done 17,334 projects in 260 districts across the country”, he said.

In an interview with Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, the Member of Parliament for Ofoase-Ayirebi Constituency hinted that the manifesto delivery tracker is a live platform which continues to update, pushing the infrastructure figure to 18,000 as at last night.

He indicated that there are some of the projects like a marketplace he facilitated for the people of Otabil in his constituency which is not captured in the manifesto tracker of 17,334 projects which were presented by the Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

“Our delivery tracker is a live platform that we continue to update and as at last night, data that we have seen has pushed the figure to 18, 000. If you come to my district, I have built a marketplace at a place called Otabil and we did not add to the manifesto tracker. It was not part of the over the 17,000 projects . . . ” he added.

He, however, challenged the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to publish all their projects they did in their first term across the country as it is not enough answer to just name Circle Interchange, Kasoa Interchange, University of Ghana Medical Hospital and few others.

“We have named our 17,334 projects and we are challenging the NDC to publish all their projects they did in their first term across the country. If you said that you did the Circle Interchange, Kasoa Interchange, built University of Ghana Medical Hospital, Kumasi Airport, Kejetia, I don’t think that this is the answer to infrastructure development,” he challenged.

“We are talking about 17,334 projects and so if the NDC mentions 10 or 50 projects they did in their first term, they have said nothing. They should publish their own and not one or two signature projects; we are talking about across the country projects in the 260 districts,” he stressed.
