RE: Revocation Of The Appointment Of Sekyere East DCE

Effiduaseman Association of USA Inc is a non-profit organization incorporated in New York USA. The Association is dedicated to supporting the social, cultural, educational, and economic development of Effiduaseman and its surrounding towns and villages in Ghana. Essentially, our catchment area is Sekyere East District. While most of us domiciled abroad, we take great interest in the development of our motherland and currently undertaking a major project at the District Hospital, proving our commitment to the community.

We have noted with concern the current development that is going on in the District about the Revocation of the appointment of the District Chief Executive, Madam Mary Boatemaa Marfo.

We commend the President for taking this bold decision and with swiftness. We believe this is good for peace in the District. While this Association is non-political, we will not hesitate to voice out our opinion on any event that may impact on peace, stability, and development of our communities even if it may sound political.

Many bodies, including Chiefs and opinion leaders in our communities, have expressed long-standing concerns about the work of the DCE and her relationship with stakeholders. We know governance of inclusion is key for community development especially in our system of grassroots democracy. However, the operations of the DCE, has been the opposite and this has affected the District significantly.

Your Excellency, this is why your decision to terminate the DCE appointment has touched many hearts. We hope this will serve as a great lesson to future appointees. We cannot wait to see our New DCE.

Thank You for your attention.
