Rumours Of Michael Essien's Move To AC Milan Grows

AC Milan have made Michael Essien their main transfer target this summer despite his agent insisting the midfielder will stay at Chelsea. Fabian Pivateau said last week that his client will honour his contract with the Blues when rumours of the move to AC Milan emerged. But rumours of an immiment move for Essien continues in the Italian media after yesterdays declaration by AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi that they go on a shopping spree. Fresh from winning the Serie A title two weeks ago, the Italian side are said to already be planning for next season and have drawn up a wish-list of potential transfer targets. Having been knocked out of the Champions League by Spurs this season, Milan are now rumoured to be preparing to go on a shopping spree in London to strengthen their squad for next campaign, with owner Silvio Berlusconi promising fans a number of high-profile signings. Essien is one of a number of players linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in the summer, with owner Roman Abramovich expected to make widespread changes to his Chelsea squad by releasing a number of the clubs older and fringe players. AC Milan are believed to be tracking the Ghanaian midfielders progress and are expected to make a bid in the region of 18million for the 28-year-old in the next couple of months.
