General Secretary of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has said that the late President Rawlings entrusted the political life of his daughter, Dr Zenator Rawlings into his hands.

According to him, the late President Jerry John Rawlings personally told him [Asiedu Nketia] on many occasions before repeating it publicly on this year’s June 4 anniversary that he [late Rawlings] is proud of his daughter Dr Zenator Rawlings.

“One more thing that I want to announce is that he [our founder Jerry Rawlings] told me personally and I don’t know how many people he told them as well. Whenever we meet with him, he always says that ‘General, I am proud of my daughter, Zenator,” he disclosed.

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, the NDC Chief Scribe said that the comment of the late President Jerry John Rawlings about his daughter Dr Zenator Rawlings to him in effect means that he [Asiedu Nketia] should stand for, mentor and guide her in her political life and activities in his absence as a father.

“In effect, this means that in his [late Rawlings’] absence, we should stand for, mentor and guide Zenator in her political life and activities,” he pontificated.

General Mosquito as popularly called, therefore, entreated all the NDC members in the Korle Klottey Constituency to support her in her campaign activities to ensure that she wins the seat again to honour the late Jerry John Rawlings.

“I believe that what we can do to remember the man is to help his daughter in her political activities. Whenever she calls for help in her activities, we will help her to succeed in her political life," he said.

“I will therefore plead with the NDC members in her constituency, Korle Klottey that one thing we can do to honour Papa in his grave is to ensure that his daughter becomes successful in her political life by helping her in this election to win and go back to Parliament,” he pleaded.
