Nkrumah Did It For Northern Region, Posterity Will Thank Akufo-Addo For Nationwide Free SHS Roll-out - Charles Owusu

Head of Operations of the Forestry Commission, Charles Owusu has fired shots at Ex-President and NDC Presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama for claiming ownership of the free SHS policy implemented by the Akufo-Addo administration.

Ex-President John Mahama says his government started the free SHS but Ghanaians voted them out of power before they could implement it.

“We started the programme and the NPP came and continued it. Unfortunately, the implementation has been very poor, and so it ended us in double track. I assure you my countrymen, that within one year, I will cancel the double track,” Mr Mahama said at Tuobong in the Tempane District of the Upper East Region.

Reacting to the issue, Charles Owusu admonished Mr. Mahama to stop throwing dust into the eyes of Ghanaians.

"From which country did you introduce free SHS? When did you start it?'' he questioned Mr. Mahama.

According to him, all Ghanaians know President Akufo-Addo is the true initiator of the policy.

He stated strongly that posterity will reward the President for making the free SHS a reality.

"Dr. Kwame Nkrumah is credited for implementing free education in the Northern Region. There is no doubt about it but when we talk about taking it to the national level, history will reward President Akufo-Addo. Posterity will thank him and it is incumbent on the nation to reward him," he stated.
