Forming A 'Parallel Gov't' Will Throw Ghana Into Disarray - Prof. Joseph Osafo Blasts Inusah Fuseini

Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale Central constituency, Lawyer Alhaji Inusah Fuseini has advised former President  John Dramani Mahama to declare himself President-elect following his unwillingness to accept the verdict of the 2020 Presidential elections.

Lawyer Inusah Fuseini was of a strong conviction that the election results don't represent the will of Ghanaians and so called for a parallel government.

"I have said and I have advocated that he declares himself President and forms a parallel government.

"The impunity of this government which is legendary must stop and that’s how we stop it,"  he said.

But the Head of Psychology at the Univesity of Ghana, Professor Joseph Osafo has called on Mr. Mahama's advisors to exercise restraint in the kind of advice they offer the former President.

To him, Hon. Inusah Fuseini and his colleague advisors need to tell Mahama to use the appropriate forum to address any concerns they have regarding the elections.

Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" programme,  the senior Pyschologist admonished them to advise the former President to resort to the supreme arbiter because forming a parallel government will potentially plunge Ghana into disorder.

"The way to go is that there is a supreme arbiter in town which is the Supreme Court and the law allows us to go to the court . . . The point is that the law is talking. We shouldn't gag the law; let's allow the law to work. We plead with those calling on former President Mahama to declare himself President to exercise restraint. If we do that, we throw this country into disarray . . . Let's move by what the law demands," he stated.
