NPP Dep. Com. Director Advices Parents & School Children On COVID-19

Deputy Communications Director of the NPP, Mame Yaa Aboagye has sent a word of caution to students and parents ahead of nationwide reopening of school today.

To prevent the spread of the Coronavirus disease, Mame Yaa stated that although government has put in place all necessary measures by procuring “Veronica Buckets” to ensure frequent hand washing, made provision for regular free supply of water, the parents also have a responsibility to ensure their children stay safe.

She therefore asked them to assist the government in making sure the school children observe the COVID-19 safety protocols.

Government has already disinfected almost all the schools, provided them with Veronica Buckets and other measures for a smooth reopening but it is the duty of we, the parents, to ensure our children abide by all these protocols by not hugging or eating with anybody whilst in schools because children value the words of their parents more than anyone.

I am also a mother and the safety of our children are so important to us so as parent we should provide some basic needs of the covid-19 protocols like, hand sanitizers, nose mask even though government has already made the provision but we should also help them to prevent the spread of the disease…let our wards know that we are all involve.”

She also advised the students to be extra conscious of the safety protocols by washing their hands regularly, constantly sanitizing their hands and wearing their nose masks all the time.

She commended the government for the decision to reopen schools for the continuation of academia in the country.
