2020 Election Petition: Nothing Will Change Akufo-Addo’s Victory- Akua Donkor

The Founder and Leader of Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Akua Donkor has stated categorically that nothing will change the victory of the sitting President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, though his victory is being challenged in the Supreme Court by his main Political opponent, John Dramani Mahama, flagbearer of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) after the 2020 Elections.

Speaking in an interview with Hello FM's King Edward on the 'Kokrokoo' Morning Show, the leader and founder of the Ghana Freedom Party could not fathom why John Mahama will go to court after recording votes which could not have made him the next President.

"Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has already been elected and nobody can do anything about it. Allow him to govern the country for his four-year term and I will take over in the next election if Ghanaians find interest in me," she said.

Touching briefly on her party's abysmal performance in the 2020 elections, she explained several threats from unknown persons scared them from embarking on further campaigns.

Ex-President John Dramani Mahama who was the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress has petitioned the Supreme Court over the 2020 Presidential Results.

The Supreme Court resumed hearing a motion filed by the 2020 NDC Presidential Candidate, John Dramani Mahama for leave to reopen his case in the ongoing election petition today, 15th February, 2021.

The motion is to facilitate the petitioner, John Mahama’s quest to file a subpoena to compel the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Mrs. Jean Adukwei Mensa, to testify before the Apex Court.

Lead Counsel of the Petitioner, Tsatsu Tsikata is seeking to convince the court that reopening the petitioner’s case will pave the way for the EC Chairperson to be subpoenaed in the “interest of justice and fairness”.
