Akuapem Poloo Granted Bail

The Criminal Division of the Accra High Court presided over by Justice Ruby Aryeetey has granted bail to actress Rosemond Brown, popularly called Akuapem Poloo.

Akuapem Poloo has been granted an GHC 80000 bail and is to report to her case investigator every two (2) weeks.

She’s also ordered to leave her passport with the court registrar and will only travel with the permission of the court.

The decision of the High Court comes after some celebrities and loved ones made a petition for her release and her lawyer filed an appeal following the 90 days jail sentence to Akuapem Poloo.

The Criminal Court Division of the High Court will hear the appeal today, April 21, 2021.

An Accra Circuit Court sentenced the actress to 90 days in prison concurrently after she was slapped with three charges over the publication of her nude picture with her son on social media last year.

There was an uproar by some Ghanaian celebrities music legend Reggie Rockstone, comedian DKB, Nigerian movie star Tonto Dikeh and American music superstar Cardi B among others to free Akuapem Poloo or mitigate her sentence, hence resulting in the High Court appeal.

Her lawyer, Andrews Kudzo Vortia on Monday, April 19 filed the notice of appeal and an application for bail against their actress’ custodial sentence.
