Blackpool Sack Ghana Goalkeeper Richard Kingson

Newly-relegated Blackpool have released Ghana first choice goalkeeper Richard Kingson, the third time he has left an English Premier League side, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm. The Fifa 2010 World Cup gloves man in among 11 players who have been shown the exit door by the Tangerines. Kingson joined the club in September last year on a one-year deal after his contract at Wigan expired at the end of the 2010/11 season. Following an injury to first-choice goalkeeper Matthew Gilks, Kingson had an extended run in the first team. The 33-year-old made 20 appearances this season and 77 saves and 2 clean-sheets and was voted the best goalkeeper in the Premier League in a poll conducted by the Guardian Newspapers after the first half of the season. Kingson was thrown out by Birmingham City at the end of the 2008/2009 season where he was branded as a �complete waste of space� by co-owner David Sullivan. He has been linked with a move to Turkey or France this summer. Kingson is a member of Ghana�s 24-man squad to begin preparations for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations return leg qualifier against Congo and a friendly in Seoul against South Korea.
