National COVID-19 Trust Fund Is Well Managed - Chairperson

The Chairperson of the National COVID-19 Trust Fund, Mrs Sophia Akuffo, has expressed her disappointments about comments by a section of the public and the media about activities of the Fund.

She said any money and items received by the Fund have been properly accounted for, adding that the fund is currently being audited and that the audit report will be made public.

She made the remarks when the Fund presented COVID-19 hand washing machines, hand sanitizers, nose masks, and detergents to some institutions.

Institutions supported

The institutions, numbering 16 included the 37 Military Hospital, the Akropong School for the Deaf, Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital, University of Ghana Hospital, Pantang Hospital, Dodowa District Hospital, Accra Psychiatric Hospital Hospital, Special Schools/Disability Schools, Dzorwulu Special School, and New Horizons Special School.

The rest were Accra Rehabilitation Center, Akropong School and Blind, Akropong School for the Deaf, Ningo Prampram Health Directorate, Ghana Prisons Service and Rescue Volunteers.

Commendations

In appreciation, Mrs Akuffo commended all the institutions and individuals who have supported the Fund so far.

She further appealed to all institutions and individuals to continue to support the Fund so that other institutions in need of COVID-19 safety items could be supported.
