Winning NPP Votes And Floating Voters To BREAK THE "8" - THE ALAN TOUCH (I)

The NPP as a matter of urgency needs a flag bearer who has the character, competence, and charisma to overwhelmingly win the grassroots of the party and also appeal to the floating voters of the party.

Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen has proven to stand the test of time in that regard.
His competence and personality carry volumes of power that can't be limited or contained within the confines of our strongholds.

As a man with an untainted reputation, he has the unique qualities to deliver without regret a very decisive, unified, and above all clean victory for the NPP in her quest to break the “8”.
In this first part write up, we make the case for Alan has the right person to overwhelmingly win back the NPP grassroots votes

Winning Back Disgruntled Grassroots to Break the “8”:

The only candidate that can win back the disgruntled and disappointed grassroots as evidenced in the skirt and blouse approach that led to the NPP’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) situation in the 8th parliament is Alan Kyerematen.

In the just-ended elections, the NPP lost gargantuan of its parliamentary seats to the NDC, due to certain uncommon circumstances.

This alone is an indication that the NPP needs a unifier and an experienced hand to bring calm, peace, and build confidence in the grassroots to break the “8”.

The preliminary issues regarding the selection of candidates within the spectrum of the NPP's leadership for 2020, created certain leakages among the grassroots that engineered the type of skirt and blouse votes that greatly hurt the party.

It is very uncommon to see party folks voting for a presidential candidate and denying his candidate at the constituency level for an opponent.
This alone is practical evidence that a tried, tested, and experienced founding father of the NPP in the form and shape of Alan Kyerematen is the man to turn around this defeating situation to a winning one for the party.

Many are of the view that after the party had the shock of eroding all its majority seats and speakership in parliament, the NPP now more than ever needs a grassroots man to break the “8”.

Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, when given the nod in the capacity of a Flagbearer has the potency of sealing those leakages or cracks that have caused such great harm to the party.

After serving with the party since its inception in many capacities since 1992, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen undoubtedly knows and understands the grassroots very well.

After serving with many party leadership and in various party leadership roles both in opposition and in governance, Alan Kyerematen stands tallest and is the right man to lead the struggle to build a unified and formidable front to break the “8”.

Winning Overwhelmingly in our World Bank, Strongholds and Swing Regions:

The center of every drum is likely the best sound producer and should not be taken lightly.
On top of competence, it is an added advantage that Alan comes from the Asanti Region.
If it will break the “8”, why not ?
NPP can’t solidify its stronghold and listen to the NDC's Akan party tag

His maternal grandma hail from the royal household of Ejisu in the Ashanti Region.
Alan’s mother and all her children automatically became Ashanti’s at birth.

Alan’s maternal grandfather comes from the Central Region. That’s how Alan traces his roots to the Central Region, a key swing region in our body politics. The popular Ghanaian saying Adzi wo fie a oye”, to wit it is good when it is home comes to mind when we consider Alan’s Fante (Central Region) roots.

Is politics not a game of numbers? Solidifying our base doesn't mean neglecting other regions of substantial importance.
It’s all about the best strategy that can make you edge out your opponents in a battle.
Falling for the bait of your opponents like the NDC is a recipe for electoral disaster.

The impending Flagbearership race calls for the NPP to choose a candidate that can win emphatically in our “World Bank” and break the back of any voter apathy in our stronghold.

The Ashanti Region, the largest region in Ghana now with 47 constituencies, has turned out to become the master game-changer in our body politics for general elections. This has empirically been proven from data since 1992 to date, that the Asanti Region is the catalyst of the NPP victory.
In the 2020 elections, the Asanti Region alone was able to beat nine other regions with a marginal remaining balance of not less than a hundred thousand (100,000) votes to the credit of the NPP.

Securing and Building our Base/ World Bank to Break the “8”:

Any army that goes to war, must have a general that can command and secure its stronghold.
Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen is a candidate that has his roots (family and political) from the powerhouse of the NPP.

Alan has the charisma and personality to supply the party with the needed core votes in the NPP strongholds to secure victory and break the “8” with ease.

It is an incontestable fact that; the votes recorded by the stronghold of the NPP (Ashanti Region) in 2020 showed the game-changing prowess of the region in securing a one-touch victory for the party.

Out of the 137 seats the NPP won in the just-ended elections, 99 happened to be attributed to Akan settlements.

If the independent candidate is added to 99 by doing business with the NPP in parliament, this total will amount to 100 seats out of 137 from the Akan settlements.
The Akan settlements are the stronghold of the NPP as the Zongo’s have been for the NDC.
It’s no surprise that the NPP didn’t win in the Zongo communities in the 2020 elections.

Even a few of the remaining 37 seats also have the potential of an Akan leadership of which Ablekuma South and North is an example to that effect.

The strategy is straightforward; secure your stronghold with a candidate that has roots and can overwhelmingly win it over and breaking the “8” will be practically doable.

The above-enumerated reasons make Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen an unrivaled candidate in terms of his potential in bringing back disgruntled grassroots and securing the powerhouse or world bank of the NPP which comprises the Ashanti Region and Akan constituencies all over the country.
This practical strategy will lead to an extraordinary one-touch victory for the NPP in 2024.

Conclusion:

Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, who is from the engine room of the party commands enormous respect and admiration and is unrivaled in the quest to bring back disgruntled grassroots who voted skirt and blouse in 2020.

We will kindly draw our pen to a stand-still by quoting one of my indefatigable brothers known as "Achiri" from one of the most powerful kingdoms in Ghana, Dagbong in the Northern part of the country; " It will be unwise to set up a yam factory at an area where they least grow yams".

Watch Out for Part 2...!
