Hearts Of Oak Win Ghana League Title With One Match To Spare

Hearts of Oak are expected to get a guard of honour in their final match of a successful Ghana Premier League season.

This is after winning the title on Sunday in their penultimate match against city rivals Liberty Professionals at the Accra Sports Stadium.

They drew 1-1 with the Scientific Soccer Lads, a not impressive result but enough to clinch their first title in 12 years.

The Phobians will head into the WAFA game four points ahead of Kotoko were beaten by Bechem United at the Nana Gyeabour Park.

WAFA are a bogey side of Hearts so they were some fears of them losing. As it stands, even if they lose by an embarrassing scoreline, they will still be champions.

The victory means Hearts will be in Africa next season as Ghana's representative for Caf Champions League.

But they can end the season a double having reached the quarter-finals of the MTN FA Cup.
