Corruption Survey: Charles Owusu Commends CDD For Their Boldness

Charles Owusu, a former Head of Monitoring of the Forestry Commission, has commended the Center for Democratic Development (CDD) over their recent corruption survey.

A survey conducted by the CDD revealed that the majority of Ghanaians lack confidence in President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to fight corruption.

Sixty-two (62) percent of 2,400 Ghanaians interviewed in the CDD post-election survey conducted between May 23 and June 3, 2021 indicate a lot of the citizens don't trust the President to “protect the country’s financial resources and curb corruption in the next four years.”

“While Ghanaians are split (48% vs. 48%) on the government’s ability to ensure that rule of law is upheld in the next four years, majority [of them] are not confident in its ability to protect the country’s financial resources (53%) and curb corruption and official impunity (62%)," a publication by Citinewsroom read.

Speaking on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' programme, Charles Owusu complimented CDD for boldly putting the survey out in the public.

He encouraged the policy think-tank to keep up with their boldness saying, "I commend CDD for their boldness for saying what they've heard and seen to the public . . .that boldness that they have to have put this out is a good thing''.
