Stop It! Infusing Partisan Politics Into Owusu Bempah's Case Only Makes It Worse - Lawyer Gary Nimako Cautions

Lawyer Gary Nimako, who is representing Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah in court says at this time, he can only plead with the Attorney General to have his client's case dropped.

He says anything apart from that will only undermine his client's trial and thus land him into more trouble and possibly set him on a warpath with the Attorney General.

Speaking on Okay FM's 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, he explained that the matter is before the court and that he doesn't want to go into the case but can only plead with the Attorney General to have the case dropped and settled amicably.

"This is not the time for people to be running commentary about who did what. The incident has already happened and the least we can do is to have sympathy for the man of God and plead on his behalf for the case to be dropped."

"Infusing partisan politics into issues surrounding his arrest will only make matters worse," he added.

Gary Nimako is disturbed by the political angle being attached to the issue and has cautioned those involved to refrain from that path.

The Founder and Leader of Glorious Word and Power Ministry International, Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah was arrested together with three of his junior pastors on Sunday, September 12, 2021.

The arrest of Owusu Bempah came after a series of confrontations between him and repented fetish priestess, Nana Agradaa now known as Evangelist Patricia Oduro Koranteng.

A day after some junior pastors of Reverend Owusu Bempah were seen in a viral video brandishing guns and threatening to deal with Agradaa, the pastor and a group of men trooped to her residence to confront her.

Agradaa, however, failed to face up to Owusu Bempah but chose to stand on the balcony of her building leaving the pastor and his troop stranded at her gate.

Following the incident and the brandishing of weapons that characterized the storming of Agradaa’s residence, the Ghana Police Service picked up Reverend Owusu Bempah and his junior pastors and put them before a court on Monday.

His plea for bail was rejected by the court which handed him a one-week remand.

He was however granted bail on Wednesday, September 15, 2021
