Arrogance Of Power Is When You Mocked Ghanaians With ‘Yentie Obiaaa’ When They Complained About Hardship - Mame Yaa Aboagye Blasts Mahama

Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party, Mame Yaa Aboagye has blasted former President John Dramani Mahama for calling NPP response to the Catholic Bishops as “arrogance of power”.

She explained that, prior to election 2016, NDC and Mr. MAHAMA fought the clergy who spoke against them and called them all sorts of names, therefore Mr. Mahama has no credibility to talk about arrogance of power.

Former President John Dramani Mahama has described the NPP’s response to the recent comments by the Catholic Bishops Conference as due to the arrogance of power.

He also accused the NPP of being unreceptive to criticisms.

“But that is what we call the arrogance of power. They said when the gods want to destroy you, they first make you mad. Because this is madness. The Catholic Bishops have spoken; what is your business holding a press conference against them? Accept criticism in good faith”, the former President said.

Mame Yaa Aboagye, reacting to the former President's statement, described his pronouncements as “hypocritical as his Ministers and party members, under his regime, did worse to Pastors and the Catholic Bishops.

You (Mr. Mahama) and NDC called these men of God so many names under your regime including ‘Criminals in Cassocks’. Could that also be described as arrogance of power?.”

Mame Yaa Aboagye further said; “Arrogance of power is when you were dancing sarcastically to the tune ‘Yentie Obiaa’ when Ghanaians were complaining about hardship during your time. Arrogance of power is when you told nursing and teacher trainees that you will never restore their allowances even if it will cost you the elections. This is cheap propaganda!”
