Max Andrew Smith Shares Advice For Utilizing Social Media To Build Your Career

The digital space is a place for everyone. You can start a business here, grow it, sell it, and occupy another; this flexibility has appealed to many young minds. The dapper and enterprising Max Andrew Smith is one of them. In this exclusive interview, Max sheds light on his journey and how he does what he does.

Q. Max, please tell us about your background.

A. I am from a small town called Telscombe cliffs by Brighton. I lived there for the first two decades of my life and went through the usual school, friends, and college routine. My mother worked as a cleaner and my father as a painter and decorator. I also have an elder sister. I started working as an entrepreneur when I was 14, and there’s been no looking back since. I started with reselling popular shoes and clothes, then moved to selling jewelry and branded phone cases to finally starting my own social media agency, which has grown to six figures.

Q. How was your experience as a young entrepreneur, Max?

A. It was amazing. I started to simply earn my own pocket money, but in a few years, I made tens of thousands from it. But it wasn’t just about the money. I learned about managing things, organizing myself, and how to create and live up to expectations. It has been the most productive time of my life and set me up to deal with new forms of business and newer expectations as they grow in our digital world.

Q. What do you enjoy the most about being a businessperson?

A. Working in business gives me the chance to be creative. I like to come up with new ideas, new solutions, and new ways to simplify the lives of my customers. They may come to me to buy shoes or jewelry or take advice on how to start up their social media business, but I make sure that when they leave, they have understood the value of what they bought with their money.

Q. What advice do you have for people who hope to turn social media into their business?

A. I’d say what I always say — be honest, be consistent, and be patient. Couple these fundamentals with new knowledge and skill, and you’ll be well on your way.

Max’s faith in himself and the potential that lies in good, honest hard work is inspiring indeed.
