TrueCare Ghana, a non-governmental organization has embarked on another benevolence exercise by feeding over 300 residents at Frafraha in Adenta Municipality.

The initiative which forms part of the NGO’s flagship project aims at reaching out to the less privileged at Madina and nearby communities during this festive season to help put a smile on their faces.

Also, a massive clean-up exercise was organized alongside the feeding Project to help improve the sanitation situation in the area.

The clean-up exercise saw the de-silting of choked gutters, sweeping of major streets, and evacuation of hundreds of tonnes of waste from various parts of the town.

Speaking at the ceremony, TrueCare Ghana’s Executive Director, Saint Ofosu Koranteng, explained that the Foundation has been running the feeding Project as one of its flagship projects in partnership with local authorities and traditional leaders in respective areas for many years.

This he said, TrueCare Ghana has been running this project to help complement the government’s effort to help address the plight of the vulnerable in the country.

Stressing that, TrueCareGhana is currently focused on addressing issues related to health, community development, and disaster relief.

Saint Ofosu Koranteng, commenting on the disaster relief project, said over the years the NGO has engaged in benevolence exercises by supporting flood-affected relief items.

Touching on health, he noted that NGO has taken a keen interest in facilitating funds to support patients who cannot afford their surgical bills.

“We have taken a closer look at the National Insurance Policies and as much as we appreciate and applaud these policies; there are a lot of restrictions and limitations to the beneficiaries.

Citing the absence of certain medications on these policies especially when it comes to surgeries.

It is in this regard that, TrueCareGhana has taken a giant step by putting a mechanism in place to facilitate funds to assist victims who are not financially sound to cater for these bills,” he explained.

To that effect, he revealed that currently, TrueCare Ghana is running a campaign dubbed: “Make A Needy Family’s Xmas Memorable.”

Our next event will take place at Abokobi where we shall be feeding 400 individuals and also donating food items, cash, and clothes to 50 needy families during this Xmas.

“We are also reaching out to needy families in the Ayi Mensa, Aburi, Kitase, Abokobi, and Danfa neighborhoods as part of this project, adding that as an NGO, we are also committed to helping communities in urgent need of social services.

On her part, the Assemblywoman for the Gbentaana Electoral Area, Hon Ella Esinam Nongo who graced the occasion applauded TrueCare Ghana for embarking on such a giant step to help improve the sanitary condition in the area.

Stressing that, her outfit will continue to work closely with TrueCare Ghana to initiate a number of sensitization activities, including regular clean-up exercises to create enough public awareness about the need to keep the environment clean at all times.

“I’m also grateful to TrueCare Ghana for extending the feeding programme to my electoral area.

“This indeed has placed a smile on the faces of my electorate,” she stated.

For him, the Chief of Fafraha, Nii Akporcommey I, also praised the foundation for coming to the aid of people to feast with them and also to help clean up their environment.

However, he pledged to partner with TrueCare Ghana to help address the challenges confronting the community. The residents in elation commended TrueCare Ghana for showing love to them.



Some of the beneficiaries shared the challenges they are facing and urged TrueCare Ghana and other corporate bodies to intervene.

“Currently we are in need of toilet facilities to help discourage open defecation in the area. We are also in dire need of street lighting, Library, and prosper waste disposable site,” they appealed.

In response to this appeal, TrueCare Ghana promised to take swift action to ensure the street lights are installed as soon as possible.

In addition, the foundation stated that it will deliberate with the Board Board of Directors on how to address other pressing needs they have requested for.
