E-Levy Is The Answer To Ghana’s Progress - Kwesi Acquah

NPP Member of Parliament(MP) for Oda constituency, Alex Kwesi Acquah, has urged Ghanaians to embrace the e-levy approved by the Akufo-Addo government.

The e-levy, announced by the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta while presenting the 2022 budget, is to ensure all Ghanaians pay tax on all electronic transactions.

It's expected to commence in February next year and to compensate for the removal of road tolls by generating revenues for infrastructure development.

Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" programme, Kwesi Acquah touted the benefits of the e-levy, assuring the citizenry it will be used for its intended purpose.

Likening the e-levy to HIPC, the MP noted that, just as the HIPC initiative benefited the nation, the e-levy will serve as the support system to Ghana's development.

"The Ghanaian is enterprising . . . If Ghana will move forward, e-levy is the answer," he stated.
