Sekondi-Takoradi MCE To Be Hauled Before Parliamentary Select Committee?

The Member of Parliament for Aowin, Oscar Ofori Larbi has expressed his disgust at the attitude of the Sekondi-Takoradi, MCE Abdul Mumin Issah.

According to him, he was expecting him to show regret for his action but "his encounter with the press after he was granted bail did not suggest that he has shown any remorse for his provocative and unrestrained conduct".

The MCE was arrested by the Western Regional Police Command for an alleged motor traffic offence, verbal assault, and offensive conduct against a Police officer.

He was subsequently taken to court, granted bail and then was suspended by the President.

In a letter published after his release, Mr. Mumin Issah said he is “not oblivious of the fact that it is not over until it is all over.”

Parliament Select Committee

In a statement, the MP for Aowin said he has started the processes of informing Parliament.

"Meanwhile, I have started the processes of informing the Select Committee on Local Government and Rural Development for action to be taken on this matter and possibly, debated on the floor of the House."
