Edmund Kyei Writes: Dr. Ernest Addison Leadership At Bank Of Ghana Exceptional

Years ago some Ghanaians lost their businesses and wealth through the defunct banks in the country.

Before Dr Ernest Addison was appointed in 2017, some Ghanaian bank and credit unions were operating without the requisite procedures but after his appointment, he worked tirelessly with the economic management team to curb the menace, he was able to put in place measures that restored confidence in the Ghanaian banking sector.

The cleanup system was introduced, which help the central bank to clear financial institutions which were not complying with the Bank of Ghana rules and regulations, also banks with weak financial muscles were merged with other banks to achieve a robust system of banking.

For instance, Ghana was able to have Consolidated Bank Ghana which is doing well in the system.

Dr Ernest Addison won the Central bank Governor of the year for the Sub Saharan African in the year 2020, after most of the achievements he chalked in the financial sector, Ghanaians regain confidence in the banking sector and since that time there has been no record of the banking collapse in the financial sector and this shows how dedicated and experienced when it comes to managing our banking system.
