Stop Mocking Our Democracy And Build Consensus On National Issues - Nana Ofori Tells Leaders

PPP National Chairman, Nana Ofori Owusu, has called on the nation's leaders to resist divisions among them but find amicable ways to come to a consensus over national issues.

Speaking to host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's 'kokrokoo', Nana Ofori Owusu decried the behavior of the Members of Parliament and some leaders in the country where they engage in violent disagreements over issues.

He was commenting on the Supreme Court verdict and matters arising and, to him, it is about time that leaders adopted diplomatic methods to foster unity.

He condemned the furore surrounding national issues saying, "where we are now is a mockery of democracy. That everyday we want to use strong arms technique''.

Explaining the relevance of consensus building, Nana Ofori stated; ''Consensus is a way of life, is a way of thinking. It is not a situational activity''.

He hoped the leaders will pay attention to his statements and change their ways in order to advance the progress of the country.
