“I Am Sorry” – Nhyiaeso MP Apologies For Describing Ghana’s Economy a ‘Sickle Cell Child’

NPP MP for Nhyiaeso Constituency, Dr Stephen Amoah says some words he used to describe Ghana’s ailing economy were “unacceptable” and “unfortunate”.

He has, however, rendered an unqualified apology to that effect and maintained, “such mistake will not happen again”.

Dr Stephen Amoah whiles discussing issues concerning Ghana’s economy described the current state of the economy to a child diagnosed with sickle cell disease.

His comment has been condemned by many including the Sickle Life and Sickle Cell Awareness Initiative (SCAI).

The SCAI said the comment was “sensitive”.

However, Dr Stephen Amoah in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show, 'Ghana Montie', retracted and apologised for the comments made.

“I am sorry,” he said.
