Alex Segbefia Lied! John Evans Atta-Mills Memorial Heritage Not Registered!!

Contrary to the claim by Mr. Alexander Percival Segbefia that the John Evans Atta Mills Memorial Heritage, the organization whose Board he currently chairs, was registered and incorporated under the laws of Ghana, checks by The informer reveals is palpably false, and that Alex Segbefia deliberately threw dust into the eyes of the public in order to achieve selfish political ends.

Checks by The Informer newspaper revealed that Alex Segbefia told the first lie on February 1, 2022 which was the date the unregistered organisation was launched at Cedi Auditorium at the University of Ghana, Legon in Accra.

In his interview with the media, Alex Segbefia emphatically lied to the media when he said the “John Evans Atta Mills Memorial Heritage is registered and incorporated under the laws of Ghana”.

As if that was not enough, on Monday, 16th May 2022, the same Alex Segbefia repeated his lies at the Ghana International Press Centre when addressed the media.

In his address, Alex Segbefia emphatically stated, “the John Evans Atta-Mills Memorial Heritage was incorporated on the 14th of October 2021 at the Register-Generals Department as a not-for-profit, non-partisan, independent, charitable company limited by guarantee”.

Real Owners Pop Up

However, painstaking investigations by this Newspaper revealed the John Evans Atta Mills Memorial Heritage was not “incorporated on the 14th of October 2021 at the Register-Generals Department as a not-for-profit, non-partisan, independent, charitable company limited by guarantee” as claimed by Alex Segbefia.

Unimpeachable documentary evidence in possession of this Newspaper clearly reveals the true and legal owners/directors of the John Evans Atta Mills Memorial Heritage as Eric Elikem Akabua and Samuel Kwame Yeboah [both businessmen].

The two businessmen who got the organization incorporated and registered on 31st January 2022 as a non-governmental and non-profit making organization, have threatened legal action against Alex Segbefia and his group over the wrongful appropriation of their organization’s name.

Documents at the Registrar-General’s Department with Reg No.  CG004710122 and TIN: C0061540137 sighted by this Newspaper read in part, “I hereby certify that John Evans Atta Mills Memorial Heritage LBG is this day incorporated under the Companies Act, 2019 [Act 992] and that the liability of its members is limited by guarantee.

“Given under my hand and official seal at Accra, this 31st day of January 2022”.

Information has it that there is huge controversy regarding the composition Advisory Council as some of the members named were not consulted and so have raised serious concerns.

Furthermore, The Informer can state on authority that all doors both within and without government circles have been closed to Alex Segbefia and his group even as their real motive/agenda has been established.

For instance, recently the group’s overtures and intrigues within certain quarters were rejected.

It has also been found out by this Newspaper that the real hidden agenda of the Alex Segbefia group is to create the platform for John Dramani Mahama in his inordinate desire to become President of the Republic of Ghana again by riding on the Goodwill of the late President John Evans Atta Mills.

July 24th Comes Alive

Come July 24th 2022, His Excellency President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is expected to lead the nation to hold the 10th Anniversary Remembrance Service of President John Evans Atta-Mills, at the Asomdwee Park.

His Excellency President Akufo-Addo will also take the opportunity to officially commission the Asomdwee Park.

True to the words of the Akufo-Addo Administration per a promise in 2020, that the then non-existent Asomdwee Park will be constructed, two years down the line, work has progressed to expectation.

Specifically, during the 8th Anniversary Remembrance Service in July 2020, Chief Executive Officer of the Coastal Development Authority (CODA), Mr. Jerry Ahmed Shaib was joined by Mr. Samuel Koku Anyidoho, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Atta-Mills Institute (AMl), to break grounds for the construction of Asomdwee Park.

Under the auspices of CODA and AMI, the Government of Ghana under the Administration of President Akufo-Addo, is earnestly preparing to give the 10th Anniversary Memorial Service of the late President Atta-Mills, a touch of excellence.

President Atta-Mills died on, Tuesday, July 24th, 2012, and had his mortal remains interred, on Friday, August 10th, at the Asomdwee Park.

For the 4 and half years that the NDC Administration led by John Dramani Mahama was in power after the death of President Atta-Mills, no attention was paid to the development of the Asomdwee Park to honour the memory of President Atta-Mills.

Over the years, it took the Atta-Mills Institute led by Koku Anyidoho, with the support of his Team and well-wishers to, yearly, keep the Asomdwee Park clean for the Anniversary Activities.

With a deep desire for the Asomdwee Park to not only honour the memory of President Atta-Mills, but to also give the nation a better image as far as Asomdwee Park is concerned, the Atta-Mills Institute approached the Administration of President Akufo-Addo.

Thanks to the forward-looking and all-embracing leadership style of President Akufo-Addo, CODA was given the go-ahead to lead the construction of the Asomdwee Park.

Ghanaians from all walks of life are certainly expectant and look forward to a National Event devoid of parochial partisan considerations.

To God Almighty be the glory.
