Tina Muulikaa Selected By The US Department of State To Participate In The Mandela Washington Fellowship This Year

Tina Muulikaa, a journalist who focuses on rural reports in Ghana has been awarded alongside 31 other Ghanaians to participate in the Mandela Washington Fellowship for the year 2022.

A total of about 4,000 Ghanaians from diverse fields applied this year and as competitive as it was, Tina Muulikaa was one of the selected .

Tina Muulikaa is the originator of Tina REPORTS on YouTube. She uses communication to facilitate social change and development, and has brought to light, some disturbing realities that need immediate attention and solution in rural areas.

Extending a hand to the less privileged and marginalized in society is a core value of Tina REPORTS. Through Tina REPORTS  Foundation, several donations have been made to some people in rural Ghana.

Tina Muulikaa, hopes to support deprived communities in rural Ghana with some basic necessities and also mentor and support Women and girls in rural Ghana after the fellowship.

A total of 700 African leaders between the ages of 25-35 will participate in the Fellowship this year.  They will have the opportunity to hone their skills at a U.S. higher education institution with support for further professional development after they return to their home countries.  

The Fellowship focuses on leadership and skills development in one of three tracks: Leadership in Business, Leadership in Civic Engagement, or Leadership in Public Management.

The Fellows will travel to the United States this summer for intensive professional development and leadership training in Washington, D.C. and in various cities across the United States. 

They comprise leaders from business, the public sector, and non-governmental organizations. 

Nine Fellows from last year’s cohort, which was conducted virtually, have also been selected to travel to the United States this summer as part of YALI’s Alumni Enrichment.
