Purported Fuel Subsidy Is Fake - GOIL

GOIL Company Limited has issued a public disclaimer of a fuel subsidy promotion, being circulated on social media platforms”.

GOIL is therefore calling on the Police and other security operatives to track the operations of the fraudsters while encouraging any member of the public who might have already fallen for the scam to report to the nearest police station.

GOIL in a statement to the Ghana News Agency in Tema explained that the promotion which seeks to encourage unsuspecting customers to join a trivia that will award winners a sum of GHC500.00 among other freebies is fake and a fraudulent scheme.

According to GOIL’s statement, some suspected members of the syndicate in their attempt to attract patronage to the fake and fraudulent promotion have gone the extra length to give testimonies through fake accounts about how they had successfully redeemed their rewards.

“GOIL is urging the public to ignore the said Fuel Subsidy Promotion as it is a scam,” stressing that GOIL always and opening through the media duly informs the public of forthcoming promotional activities,” the statement stated.

The statement also urged the public to visit GOIL’s official website at www.goil.com.gh and other corporate social media handles for authentic information on promotions, products, and services.
