'Otto Addo Is Not a Coach' - Countryman Songo Fires Black Stars Coach

Coach Otto Addo is not an experienced person to coach the Black Stars, renowned Sports Journalist, Patrick Osei Agyemang, affectionately called Countryman Songo has slammed the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for appointing the former as Head Coach of the country's national team, the Black Stars.

Before the appointment of Coach Otto Addo to lead the Black Stars to the Qatar World Cup, he was a talent coach for Borussia Dortmund in Germany.

To Countryman Songo, choosing Otto Addo as Black Stars coach is a grave mistake.

"This is not the best but he has already made his selection . . . when you talk, they won't listen but when the time comes up, then they are now about to talk or fire or speak their minds. We have seen that Black Stars don't perform well. Black Stars haven't improved; Black Stars' soccer performance hasn't progressed.

"In the first place, the person doing the selection is a trainer scout. He is not an experienced coach. Have you heard he coached any team before? In this 21st Century, Ghana is using a trainer scout. Someone who even under 17, Division or third, even colts football; he hasn't coached any team before. Any person who claims he has coached before should show the team he coached and I will keep quiet. Fire burn you all!", he exclaimed.

The popular Sports Presenter's emotions flared up as, to him, the choice for Otto Addo is absurd.

"How can such a coach, a trainer scout, be coaching Black Stars?", he asked while speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" morning show and asserted, "it's very bad. It's just to serve the interest of the so-called football people. This is why they never forced for an experienced coach".
