#NDCDecides: Sea Of Red, White, Green & Black Envelops Venue

After months of criss-crossing the country trying to win the confidence of National Democratic Congress (NDC) "kingmakers", all is set for the crossing of the rubicon today.

With euphoria rising, and some hearts perhaps palpitating, over 9000 NDC delegates are gradually trickling into the Accra Sports Stadium, venue of the opposition party's 10th National Delegates Congress to elect new executives.

Delegates from 276 constituencies will partake in Saturday's voting process. This will include former government appointees, constituency and regional executives.

Within the inner perimeter is a dais for dignitaries draped colourfully in a sea of red, white, gtreen and black, the party colours of the NDC. In addition, outside the congress grounds and at stategic areas on the walls of the Accra Sports Stadium, the colours that define the opposition party are also visible.

Interestingly as at 11:45am, the main event has not commenced officially.

To some political pundits, this particular congress is a big test case for the opposition party, as delegates will be torn between electing their 17-year long-serving General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, as the party’s new National Chairman or maintain the incumbent, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, to lead the party for the next four years.
