Sarkodie Was Yvonne Nelson's 'Cash Cow' For Her Memoir - Arnold Asamoah Tells Why

Arnold Asamoah Baidoo, an entertainment journalist and pundit, has analyzed to the letter the recently released memoir of actress Yvonne Nelson, telling why the actress specifically made reference to rapper Sarkodie in her book.

Arnold strongly believed Yvonne didn't mention Sarkodie in her memoir to only reveal an affair they had years ago which resulted in abortion of pregnancy but also the actress knew Sarkodie was the figure to ride on to sell the book.

According to him, Yvonne Nelson strategically placed the rapper in her memoir so she can best market the book and get returns for it.

"If you really want your memoir or tell-it-all book to actually be the topic for conversation, it has to be explosive. There must be that element of surprise, that element of something to arouse us to talk...The Sarkodie element was supposed to be the marketing strategy. It was supposed to be that point to sell the book.

"It was intentional because guess what, Sarkodie is on that level. Sarkodie is seen, not even seen; he is one of our biggest exports. He is one of biggest artiste with biggest influence, biggest following and biggest clout", Arnold explained.

To him, Sarkodie was somehow the "cash cow" for Yvonne Nelson and she has indeed achieved her goal.

"Most importantly, Sarkodie is seen as a doting father; a loving husband. So, if Sarkodie is in this book, guess what? It will generate conversation. It will generate attention based on the circumstance that brought Sarkodie into this book. So, it was not a digression. It was an intentional act to actually make Sarkodie that marketing point", he expounded.

Arnold Asamoah Baidoo made these points during UTV's flagship entertainment programme "United Showbiz" on Saturday.
