A lecturer at the Central University, Dr. Benjamin Otchere-Ankrah has vehemently condemned the action of a student at Adisadel College who nearly strangled his fellow student on the campus.

Two students of the Quaque House at Adisadel College engaged in a fierce fight over a SIM card, reports indicate.

The fight ended up with one of the students holding tight the neck of the other to the extent that the latter was gasping for breath but perpetrator ignored the pain of his victim and violently hit the victim's head on a bunk bed causing him to have a swollen cheek.

Reacting to the incident during Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' show, Dr. Benjamin Otchere-Ankrah called on the management of the school to take the students through psycological therapy, particularly the one who tried to strangle the other.

To him, the perpetrator exhibited signs of a criminal and seriously needs counselling to avoid him growing up to become one.

"At this level and he is doing this, he could grow up into a criminal. This child needs counselling. If we don't psyche him and shape his mind, he might turn into a criminal . . . I wouldn't be surprised to find out that this child took some hard drugs because if you are in the right frame of mind, you wouldn't hit your brother's head against a metal bed. If his eye has got damaged, how do you replace it?"
