NPP Special Delegates Congress: 'Better Luck Next Time' - Nana Akomea To Defeated Aspirants

Chief Executive Officer of the InterCity State Transport Corporation (STC), Nana Akomea has comforted the aspirants who failed to make the list of top five in the just-ended Special Delegates Congress of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP).

The Special Delegates Congress held on Saturday, August 26 saw Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Assin Central MP; Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, former Trade Minister; Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen and former Agriculture Minister; Dr. Owusu Afriyie-Akoto make the top four by polling 629, 132, 95 and 36 votes respectively.

Former Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko Kyeremateng and a leading member of the NPP, Thomas Addai Nimoh both polled 9 votes and will on Saturday, September 2 go for a run-off for the delegates to choose who among them adds up to the final number of five candidates to compete in the party's main presidential election on November 4.

The aspirants who couldn't make it to the top include former Attorney General; Joe Ghartey (4 votes), former General Secretary of the party; Kwabena Agyapong (6 votes) and members of the party namely  Kwadwo Nsafoa (3 votes) and Kofi Konadu Apraku who got 0 vote.

Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" show Tuesday morning, Nana Akomea wished the losers "better luck next time".
