Hon. Festus Bumakama Agyapong, a philanthropist and a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Sefwi Wiawso constituency, has organized free registration and renewal of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) card and provided free health screening for the residents of the constituency.

The event was held at the Okogyeabour Palace, as it coincided with the celebration of this year’s Elluo Festival, a significant cultural event for the good people of Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Area

Hon. Festus Bumakama Agyapong initiated the event by expressing his gratitude to the people of Sefwi Wiawso for their presence. He emphasized the importance of accessible healthcare and the significance of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) in providing quality and affordable healthcare to all.

Hon. Bumakama highlighted the importance of having an NHIS card and encouraged every constituent to register if they had not done so already. He explained the eligibility criteria and the process of registration. Registration forms were made available, and the constituents were guided through the registration process by NHIA officials present.

The constituents were offered a free health screening as part of the event. A team of medical professionals consisting of doctors, nurses, and technicians was present to provide the health screening services. The health screening included measuring blood pressure, checking blood glucose levels, and conducting general health check-ups. Educational materials on preventive healthcare were distributed to the constituents to raise awareness about various health issues.
