2024 SONA: Our Territorial Integrity Cannot Be Taken For Granted – Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has underscored the need to protect our territories following the increase attack of terrorists within the West African Sub-region.

In his penultimate State of the Nations Address (SONA-2024) on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 President Akufo Addo emphasized his government’s intentional efforts in strategic planning to ensure the safety and security of Ghana.

President Akufo Addo mentioned that Ghana has not been affected by the by the extremism witnessed in neighbouring countries due to meticulous planning of the government in collaboration with the security services.

Akufo-Addo accentuated the commitment to the well-being of the armed forces and all security agencies, reiterating the allocation of resources to ensure their readiness.

In assuring the entire populates, President Akufo Addo said affirmatively, “Our nation is safe and secure.”

He further highlighted significant enhancements in the equipment and capabilities of the police force, emphasizing that they are now better equipped than ever before since his government came into office.

Recognizing the challenges posed by extremism in other parts of West Africa, Akufo-Addo cautioned against taking the territorial integrity of the country for granted, thereby encouraging all Ghanaians to be more vigilant in order to combat any potential terrorist.
