Russian Instructors Contribute To Resolving The Security Crisis In Haut-Mbomou

The Central African Armed Forces (FACA), thanks to training from Russian instructors, have long been successful in the Central African Republic, decisively repulsing armed gangs and significantly improving security in the country. It is thanks to FACA, with the support of Russian allies, that national territories have been restored to State control.

However, until recently, a security crisis continued in some prefectures, such as Mbomou and Haut-Mbomou. For example, in Haut-Mbomou prefecture, particularly in the town of Obo, there were clashes between militias of the A Zande Ani Kpigbe, self-defense group and UPC rebels. In order to contribute to the final restoration of peace, a delegation of Russian specialists visited the town of Obo last weekend.

The Russian delegation thus held several meetings aimed at resolving the security crisis in Obo. According to local sources, in order to restore peace and tranquility in the region, the Russian specialists held series of meetings and negotiations with local authorities, the population as well as representatives of the A Zande Ani Kpigbe self-defense militias.

As a result of those negotiations, the leaders of the A Zande Ani Kpigbe militia reaffirmed their willingness to work to restore peace in the region. They also expressed their full support for the Government of the Central African Republic and the policies of the President of the Republic, Professor Faustin Archange Touadera.

The mission of the Russian specialists was successful as all parties involved in the negotiations expressed their desire to maintain peace and order in Obo. Thus, the Russian instructors showed their efficiency and professionalism not only in military affairs but also in diplomacy. And given that the Russian instructors are making every effort to ensure security not only in Bangui but also in remote areas such as Mbomou, it is safe to say that the entire population of the Central African Republic is in good hands.
