Students Of DPSI-Ghana Offer Solutions On Climate Change During Their Annual Science Fair Exhibition
Students of Delhi Public School International have added their voices to the call for positive action on Climate Change. They did so during their annual science exhibition fair at their school premises.
The theme for the exhibition was “reclaiming the planet”.Theannual Industrial application and science exhibition fair by Delhi Public School International-DPSI-Ghana has taken place in Tema. The event held at the premises of the school saw over 700 exhibits on display by the students.
This year’s event centered around climate change with the theme “reclaiming the planet”. The students’ offered solutions to some of the challenges confronting the environment. Unlike the previous edition, there was mass participation of students from pre-primary to the senior secondary levels. Their works focused on a number of interventions from save energy- save the planet, to working models including the use of solar energy to control traffic lights and the use of AI in directing traffic among others. Others were also on the 3-Rs (Recycle, Reuse and Restore).
DPSI-Ghana is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE).
As such the school authorities mandated the students to research, design and make a brief presentation of their projects to parents and other guests who visited their stands. The founder of DPSI-Ghana, Mr. Mukesh Thakwani alongside other high-profilepersonalities such as the Ambassador of Lebanon H.E. Maher Kheir and Ambassador of Kenya H.E. Eliphas Barine visited all the 700 stands mounted by the students.
They were briefed on the importance of the various innovations. The founder of DPSI-Ghana, Mr. Mukesh Thakwani was excited at what the various students have been able to create.
Some of the dignitaries present praised school authorities for taking STEAM education a notch higher.
The head mistress of DPSI-Ghana Dr. Seema V. Nair, praised the students for responding to the theme positively.
Officials of DPSI-Ghana says they are looking at an inter-school’s science exhibition between schools in the sub-region.
