Kukuom Clash: Police Leadership Must Act Swiftly - Nana B

National Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP), Henry Nana Boakye has asked the Ghana Police Service to act swiftly on cases involving the two NDC MPs upon whose instructions some thugs allegedly stormed registration centres to cause mayhem.

According to him, the two NDC MPs, Hon. Collins Dauda and Hon. Eric Opoku were reported to be involved in an incident at a registration centre at Kukuom, in the Asunafo South District.

"A young man who sustained injuries during the incident is today fighting for his life at the Sunyani Teaching Hospital, where I visited him this morning," he added.

Henry Nana Boakye who as part of his monitoring activities in the ongoing registration exercise, was in Kukuom to motivate hardworking supporters and also assure them of the party’s unflinching support in the face of the violence and thuggery by the NDC in the area.

"In a disturbing turn of events, I was informed that the Police had released the vehicles used by these thugs in that barbaric action. These vehicles included a white Toyota Tundra with registration number BA-8008-20 belonging to Hon. Collins Dauda, a red Toyota Hilux with registration number GN-3272-15, an unregistered red Camry Spider, a Nissan Accent salon car, and a black and yellow Dodge 4x4".

Calling on the Police leadership at the headquarters will act quickly on the subject, he aded that it was surprising that the police in the Ahafo Region could release vehicles used in such criminal activities to their owners.

"It is very worrying that the NDC seems to be creating the impression that they have a license to unleash violence in the Ahafo areas during the voter registration exercise and we implore the police to curb this menace as soon as possible," he said.
