Ambulance Trial: A-G Impressing on Witness to Skew His Testimony to Implicate Ato Forson - NDC

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has alleged that the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Godfred Yeboah Dame is deliberatory propounding a scheme to implicate the Minority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson over the ongoing ambulance saga.

In a press release dated May, 23, 2024, which was signed by the National Chairman of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the NDC as a political party is aware of the schemes being compiled by Mr. Godfred Yeboah Dame to implicate the Member of Parliament for Ajumako Enyan-Esiam.

Portions of the letter reads, “It has come to the attention of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), that during the proceedings of today, Thursday, 23rd May, 2024, in the matter of the trial of the Leader of the NDC minority in parliament, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the 3rd Accused, Mr. Richard Jakpa testified in open court that the Attorney-General, Godfred Yeboah Dame has had several meetings with him at odd hours and telephone conversations impressing on him to skew his testimony and implicate the Minority Leader.”

The NDC expressed shock of the testimony of the 3rd Accused who appeared before the Court on Thursday, May 23, 2024, to give his testament of the ongoing Ambulance saga.

The NDC stated that, the issues raised are matters of fact which formed part of the court’s record of the day’s proceedings.

“The NDC is deeply scandalized by this clear case of persecution against the leader of the party’s caucus in Parliament who has been at the forefront of our struggle against the misrule of the oppressive and despotic Akufo-Addo/Bawumia NPP regime,” the press release stated.

“This revelation goes to confirm legitimate and long-held suspicion of the devious modus operandi of Godfred Dame and the government he represents. It further shows the desperate lengths the Akufo Addo/Bawumia NPPO government will go manipulate judicial processes to unjustly victimize political opponents for cheap political goals-scoring.”

The largest opposition party further added that the lack of integrity of what they describe as "dishonourable" Attorney-General and the extent to which he goes to pervert the coursed of justice is very alarming and nation-wrecking.

The NDC concluded by stating emphatically that, the party shall hold a full blown press conference to put out incontrovertible evidence on the matter at hand that aims at shocking the nation.

“We will stop at nothing in pursuing this matter to its logical conclusion and ensuring that justice is done,” the National Chairman, Asiedu Nketia reiterated.
