ALFRED AGBESI Woyome who contested the nationality of Kofi Adams, aide of the Rawlingses and Siki Abibu, the Deputy Volta Regional Youth Organizer seems to have awakened sleeping lions and subsequently incurred their wrath. Some delegates and members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Hohoe North constituency have described Woyome as a liar, confusionist and party wrecker. They said during a meeting with them at Hohoe, Woyome alleged that Siki Abibu forged the signatures of delegates and pocketed GH�45,000.00 received from former First Lady Nana Konadu on their behalf which they found to be untrue after contacting the Campaign Coordinator of the Konadu Campaign team, Namburr Merrick Berrick The said meeting according to a delegate who spoke to DAILY GUIDE on condition of anonymity was held in the last week of May at the home of Mathias Amuzu, Hohoe North Constituency Youth Organizer near Sanko Road in Hohoe. He said their phones were collected and returned after the meeting while each delegate was allegedly given GH�100.00. He said Woyome was in the company of some leading members of the party in the region who are members the Get Atta Mills Endorsed (GAME). They allegedly included the Ho West MP, Emmanuel Korsi Bedzra, Juliana Azuma Mensah, Minister for Women and Children�s Affairs, Henry Ametefe, Volta Regional Organizer and Clement Kofi Humado, Minister for Youth and Sports and MP for Anlo. Some top party executives and constituency elders have also blamed Woyome for the unprecedented level of corruption and bribery in the Hohoe Municipal assembly during the tenure of ousted Municipal Chief Executive, Victor Herman Condobrey. They alleged that, �Woyome was the one who influenced the appointment of Condobrey, who happens to be the nephew of his wife, a native of Gbi-Kpeme.� The executives added that in 2004 Woyome also imposed on them the incumbent MP for the area, Prince Jacob Hayibor whom according to them is the worst MP the constituency has ever had. They have therefore warned Woyome to stay out of the Hohoe North constituency for his own good. One of them said �Woyome is creating too much problem for us. He is creating disaffection and apathy among party members in the constituency. We don�t need him; he should leave Hohoe North alone.� Meanwhile, Siki Abibu who has openly declared his support for Nana Konadu�s presidential has not taken the allegations lightly. He vented his anger on Woyome and challenged him to provide evidence for his foreign nationality claims against him. �Woyome is a shame to the party and he should bow down his head in shame,� he added He wondered why Mr. Woyome who claims to be a one time Vice Honorary Consul of Austria to Ghana and a respected figure in the country would exhibit such immaturity by telling lies and tainting other peoples� integrity to score cheap political points. He warned him to stay off his back and that if he wanted to campaign for Atta Mills he (Woyome) should do so without mentioning his name. Mr. Abibu who was speaking from his Hohoe base said �How can a man who many have described as wealthy and an influential figure in the party tell blatant lies against me just to canvas votes for Atta Mills�how shameful and childish?� he stressed. The deputy regional youth organizer also bemoaned the political tactics of Mr. Woyome especially what he referred to as character assassination and cash inducements saying �If Woyome thinks I am a �boot licker� and praise singer or one of the many who tremble at his beck and call because of his so called money and influence then he has it all wrong.� Woyome would not deny or confirm the allegations; he however said the meeting held with the delegates was behind closed doors therefore he would not comment on it. He however cautioned Siki to beware of utterances saying �If Siki will make such allegations without proof then I will deal with him with the appropriate quarters and contest.� Mr. Woyome who is also a co-opted member of the NDC Volta Regional Executives had alleged that Siki Abibu was a Togolese national and not Ghanaian and that if he did not mind his own business he will have to prove all of that in the law court.
