Former international Augustine Arhinful has rejected calls from a section of the Ghanaian media that Michael Essien should seek spiritual solution to his latest injury. The Chelsea star suffered his third serious knee in as many years last week which has sparked concerns over his future. Some local journalists have read superstitious meanings into the injury with some suggesting the 28-year-old should seek spiritual consultation. But Arhinful who was also retired by a nagging injury argues Essien�s current situation should be approached from a scientific perspective rather than spiritual. �This is just an accident and it should be seen as such. This whole spiritual belief must be put aside,�� the former AshantiGold midfielder told Accra-based Happy FM. �He was sustained the injury while training. People are reading their own meanings into but i think it should not to get that level.� Essien missed seven months last year after tearing the medial ligament in his left knee while training at the Africa Cup of Nations in Angola. That injury kept him out of the 2010 Fifa World Cup finals and eventually required four operations.
