Liverpool are eyeing Porto defender Alvaro Pereira as a solution to their left-back problem.
The Anfield club�s search for a left back has so far proved fruitless.
Liverpool chief Damien Comolli has now turned to Pereira, who is teammates with Luis Suarez in the Uruguay national team.
Pereira, 25, has a buy-out clause of �18 million in his Porto contract.
