Ghana Beach Soccer League Slated For October

Trophy and medals for the first ever Beach Soccer League in Ghana was unveiled at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday. The trophy launch was aimed at sensitizing the public ahead of the commencement of the league scheduled for October this year. The long overdue league has been blighted by low support and sponsorship but organizers are determined to see it come-off despite this status quo. We have decided to organise the league despite lack of sponsirhip, President of the Association Yaw Ampofo-Ankrah said. Perhaps they (Sponsors) are waiting to see how the league goes before coming on board so we just hope everything turns out right. 20 teams will be competing in the league, from which players will be selected to form the national team. African countries like Nigeria, Senegal and Cameroon have all represented the continent at the Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup.
