Ghana lead striker Asamoah Gyan has stated ahead of today�s clash between Nigeria�s Super Eagles and Black Stars of Ghana that he would surely dance in celebration, as he hopes to be on target for his motherland.
He indicated that he had no plans of abandoning his trade-mark dance anytime soon, because he enjoyed doing so after scoring.
�I�ll dance for Ghana,� an elated Gyan remarked yesterday at a high-profile pre-match press conference held at the Vicarage Road Stadium, home of Watford FC, an English Championship side.
He was however quick to add that �for me, the holiday is over, so there is no more singing,� when he was asked questions about his singing career.
He stressed that as a professional, he was concentrating on football for now, and he would dance only after scoring a goal, reiterating his earlier assertion that he would do so.
He said matches between Ghana and Nigeria had always been dicey, arguing that the fact that the Black Stars had beaten the Super Eagles in recent encounters �does not mean we are better than them. Those results do not mean we are better�.
For the Black Stars coach Goran Stevanovic, every game was important, friendly or competitive. He blamed flight schedules for the late reporting to camp of the Black Stars players, and disclosed that as at the time of the press conference, about 12 or 13 were in camp.
When Nigeria took their turn at the press conference, Coach Samson Siasia repeated his earlier contention a few weeks ago that the Black Stars are the best in Africa.
�We must give every match 100%. Every country that plays against Ghana wants to win, so we take every much seriously,� said Siasia, who was flanked by Captain Joseph Yobo and Taye Taiwo.
�It is the truth; I was only stating the obvious. Ghana is the best in Africa; I was not playing any mind games!� he maintained, in reaction to DAILY GUIDE SPORTS� question on his statement about Ghana being the best in Africa.
